The Five Means of Gaining Attraction


In our last installment of Building Attraction, the road of using attraction marketing for network marketing triumph, we discussed some general things of what Attraction is and why it is so effective. Now with that said we can move on describing ways to attain Attraction in your network marketing business, and more importantly, your life.

You may be saying if I am new to network marketing how will I come off as an expert? An old adage is “Fake it till you make it”. Many look down on that phrase, consider it a farce, a posing if you will. While at the start of your journey it will be posing, it is still the truth. The fact of it is as you approach anyone about your business who has never been in a MLM, makes you the expert. Even if you been in the company for only five minutes.

You know more about it then them. You are the expert.

It is the part of coming off as an expert instead of an overexcited new business owner that is the tricky part. You may have to fake your own Alphaness till you truly believe it, once you believe it truly, you will truly become an Alpha. As funny as that sounds and as simple as it may be, it is the honest truth.

Belief always comes before results. Without belief you cannot market your business in a way that will excite others. They will hear your disbelief in your voice and will be turned away from it. So how do you increase your attraction, position yourself as an expert or Alpha, and sponsor an endless stream of leads effortlessly as they contact you instead of the other way around?

Back when we were still cave man, an Alpha would rule us through brute physical strength and mental agility; Their hunting prowess and protective capabilities. Nowadays in our modern age an Alpha is most attractive who have obtained these five means and have made them at their disposal by deeply cementing them into who they are.

Remember, just because you may not yet have these qualities, it is just a benchmark on your journey through Attraction Marketing till you do acquire them through study and observation.


Business-Savvy

Anyone, even the newest to network marketing can become business savvy. Even if it is only on your own opportunity. Learn it, live it, breathe it. Study your compensation plan. Always be able to answer any questions aimed at your opportunity, even if you have no idea what the answer is just say “I don’t know but I can find out.”

It will empower your stance rather than disengage your prospect from you.

Buy some business books, maybe some copy writing tutorials, go to some financial seminar. Learn about businesses even if they are outside of the network marketing industry. Knowledge is value and in this information age, knowledge is also million dollar-success seeds.


Sociability

The ability to communicate is paramount in any industry you join, network marketing or other. One must learn to handle people, understand them and strive to motivate them to achieve their dreams and accomplish their goals.

This also falls into the capacity of how much of a leader you can be. In the land of Attraction Marketing this is probably the most important skill to pick up and really implement. Read books on communication, join a group of public speakers, get out and talk to people by signing up to random meet ups, or just talk to the guy next to you at the next seminar you attend. The best book I recommend to begin your language engineering skills is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie or Remember the Ice by Bob Nicoll.

In our age of troubled communication due to the advance of technology, this is even a more vital skill. People are forgetting how to talk to people. It is a great time for you to take advantage of that and learn how to say to them that you can.

Monetary Means
Having the money to do what you want, where you want, when you want, is the biggest social proof there is of being an Alpha. It means somehow or somewhere along your life you added enough value to people that they were willing to provide you with this life of luxury.

I say they provided it for you because in the end no one is selling anyone here. Rather the tools we use to share our opportunities and products are designed to prompt the person to say yes or no based on their current desires in life, which are always subject to change.

If you are reading this series on how to build your attraction and succeed in attraction marketing, you most likely have yet to gather this means in building your attraction.

That is fine

You are working in an industry that will provide it for you if you treat it well and add value to yourself. As you go this means will be unlocked to you as you raise your Alpha status and become a better networker.


Education

One of the prime-ways to succeed in your attraction is how much knowledge you have to offer your prospects. Do you come off as if you know the whole history of MLM, or as if you know the last five minutes of it as you filled out an application? Very important distinctions!

Focus on a niche to begin with. Buy books on building your attraction, programs or courses. Or if you want to get more into writing advertisements and sales pages, buy books on effective copy writing. Whatever it is that you want to become good at, find it, buy the courses from people already successful in it, do what they say and learn the pitfalls and success strategies that go with whatever you learn.

Also as you build your downline always emphasize that they too improve their education. Recommend books, tapes, cds, anything that will increase their value.

Power Through Association
This is different from a means, rather an effect that Alphas will have as they implement the above four means. As you build your downline it is important to know that the power and attraction you generate will directly result in the motivation of those you sponsor into your MLM.

If you are mild in your level of attraction, your downline will have mild results in their own efforts on average. However if you are booming with the Alpha aura, when you tell them to jump they will fly. When you reach the Alpha level they will never want to fail you, because failing you means having your protection drift away from them.

It is important to realize that everyone you sponsor into your downline gains power just by being associated with you. By being with you they gain the confidence to succeed that they were unable to attain alone.

It is than even more important to take these followers and potential pre-Alphas and turn them into Alphas in their own right. When you do this difficult form of duplication, your business will succeed to greater extents than ever before.

Get an Appointment, Get Out, Get Paid

Taking a break from my 5-part series on Attraction Marketing, I would like to show an example of Attraction.

After meeting with a fellow network marketer from a different company (I often do this to see what knowledge there is to be had elsewhere. Never trust only one teacher or coach!) I stumbled upon an interesting concept: Showing and building attraction in your prospects eyes because you are in a rush.

What better way to show how important your time is than by telling your prospect exactly what you want and telling him you cannot still around all day waiting for that response?

Not much.

This is how it worked for me today. As a distributor for high-quality health products I went into a Chiropractor office wanting to retail my products to them. Instead of going in there asking for the sale right away, I went into the mindset of just wanting an appointment to discuss increasing their bottom line. I never said how what or why, rather I asked for when.

I told the receptionist I needed five seconds to speak to Bruce. (The dr’s first name.) What did the receptionist do? The gatekeeper open the gates for me! One because I was in a rush and it was evident in my voice that it was important and two I came off as if I already knew Bruce. I walked deep into the depths of the practice, right into the jungle’s heart.

Now normally like most of us out there I would be nervous, what to do now? That question would be in my mind forever, repeating itself in eternal loop as my prospect becomes angry and frustrated. This time though… he became bewildered.

Intrigued even. I told him, not asked, when could we set up an appointment and invited him to a BNI meeting. There was no room for rejection, I told him where it was when it is and how it would increase his business. Than I said goodbye and left just as quickly.

In this span of 5 to 10 minutes I seiged the castle, got past the gatekeeper to the Big Fish AND got an apppointment for a presentation later on. It is in this presentation where the magic would happen. By now my prospect is bewildered that a man came into his office and gave him an appointment from nowhere, and then was so busy could not fully explain the proposal because he had better things he had to get to.

This makes the prospect wondering what could this be? What could this thing would improve my bottom line be? And who is this very busy, young man out and about in town making appointments that I was just a place to swing by?

When your prospect feels as if you really do not need them, rather they need you, rather they need to fight for your time rather than you fight for theirs, is when you really begin to understand the idea of attraction.

Take this story and analyze it, understand it and implement it.

Building Attraction Part 1 of 5

Attraction is Never a Choice

    Many people succeed in MLMs. They achieve their dreams and can go off into the world like a new person, refreshed from their network marketing accomplishment. For these numerous people who succeed though, there are very few roads to that success.

    There is the road most think is the common route. Building a list of friends and family, calling them, getting them into your business. If no one joined than you wait for a while and do it again. Repeat process ad infinitum till you succeed. That is one way, there are better ways.

    It is called attraction marketing and this 5 part series will be describing attraction, what it is, and how to attain it and use it to your full advantage. Get a notebook, a nice pen, and take some notes, because this information could be just that one last bit of info you needed before you could jump start your business.

    Attraction marketing allows you to never call your friends and family begging them to join your business opportunity. Rather it will have other prospects asking you about your opportunity. A truly golden situation for two reasons.

1. It is a whole lot more fun being chased by potential customers and sponsors than it is to chase them.

2. They give you the leverage to position yourself as an expert

    When you come off knowledgeable about a subject people will want to come to you to talk about that subject. If you are a stockbroker, you naturally attract people who want to talk about stocks and investing. It only makes sense as a professional network marketer you should have the same aura around you.

    This aura is labeled as an Alpha personality. People literally cannot help but be sucked into your world.. Into your thought processes and playing by your rules. That is what you want. Them playing by your rules.

    Most of us let this millennial old idea that has been ingrained in us since time began, slip past us unnoticed. It is only when we discover the ideas behind attraction and attraction marketing that we will see the same ideas played to us throughout the day by various people who have become Alphas in their profession.

    Why People Follow Alphas

   
    Alphas will protect those that she cares about with all of her strength. They will do anything to better those that it loves. In that notion it is no wonder why they are so attractive to people or why people want to work with Alphas rather than the average Joe. The protection that an Alpha offers is almost an irresistible lure in a world that begs for people to accept them as they truly are. The Alpha is the successful mentor everyone wants to learn from, the most charismatic politician, and the top income earner most likely in your company.

    It is natural that we flock to these social groupings of followers or Betas and Alphas. The Alpha’s protection serves us long enough till we can go out into the wild on our own, bearing our own Alpha traits. Till we learn how to nurture a group of followers and protect them like how an Alpha would, there will be no true success for your MLM.

    So then the question is no longer what is an Alpha and attraction marketing, rather how do you attain these skills and achieve Alpha status?

Why We Fail… MLM Tragedy to MLMer Success

Abyssal Failure

The failing rate of the average network marketer is a dismal one. Anywhere between 97-99% will fail as they build their downline. They will spend themselves out of their business before they can even make a dime to try to pay for their monthly personal volume.

Wait a second…


If so many people fail in a MLM, how can it be said it is such a great business model? The answer is simple, as is most things in life. An MLM is a business first and foremost. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme (I would argue it is a get-rich-a-lot-faster-than-your-corporate-job though.), and definitely has no relations with illegal pyramid schemes.

So what is the reason why most people fail? Because they decided rather than to develop themselves, to educate themselves so they can add value to their consumers,  they decided just to start their business doing what every network marketer is told to do, call their friends and family, and set themselves up for failure.

Most people will be unskilled when it comes to being an entrepreneur. That is fine. People can always learn. Educate themselves. Try, fail, improve and succeed. It is the natural cycle of anything we try for the first, second, or however many times it takes us till we are educated on our own learning curve.

This is no difference from any other business. Most businesses fail in their first year. The small amount of businesses that do succeed will fail in the second or third year. On average a business will make a profit on their fifth year. They will close their doors and file for bankruptcy. With slumped backs, many will never return to the field of owning their own business. Their hearts will be saddened by the trial, by what could had been had they had more resources to be successful.

Network Marketing, a Promoter’s Dream.


MLM is a curious case in the business world. Most MLM companies fail not because they went bankrupt, but because they grew too fast. The simple fact is, most MLMs have not enabled themselves to prepare for that sort of infrastructure. With the viral power of MLM, is it so surprising that many individuals are making hundreds of thousands of dollars instead of in years but in months? Or even a month?


It really is a realistic goal in a MLM. Why? Because a good MLM will provide you with all the tools you need. You never have to sell anyone. Rather you have tools to offer the opportunity to everyone. Your job is to talk as little as possible during the sponsoring and customer gathering phase. Let your prospects sell themselves, let the tools speak for you.

You are at the most basic description a promoter equipped with a suite of marketing tools.

If the tools do all the work, why do I fail still?


It is because you have yet to add value to yourself. Network marketing operates on a system of duplication. Often this duplication is a very basic, basic form that even a 3rd grader could use the system. The system can and does work, for some people they become superstars off of it. What did they do that was different from you?

Well, in terms of operating your company’s system? Absolutely nothing.


Then how did they succeed, got a group of followers, praise, the great residual paychecks while you failed, alienated your friends and families and feel horrible about it? It is based in timing. The superstar that used the same exact system as you, had one thing different from you. He was already conceived as an expert.


This conception of being an expert is what made people interested in what he had to offer. In what it could be and what it could do for them. In the end you’re not marketing your compensation plan, or your company promotions, nor even your company’s lifestyle and experience.

You’re marketing yourself.


Your prospects are going to buy you. No one else. I’ve seen two people in the same company, work the same system on the same prospect. The first one failed. The second one later contacted them and succeeded. Why? It was the same company. Same product, compensation, same marketing system.

It was because the second one was perceived as an expert. A credible source that has built rapport. It is then that we find we must develop ourselves till we are experts, to where we can add value to our prospects and truly make them feel we can aid them in their dreams and goals. Only then will we be able to add the value that will attract people to us rather than having us hunt them down and getting dismal results for the effort.

How do you add value?


Buy courses on marketing, on business, personal development, mindset. Anything that will provide you with knowledge on a subject that is related to network marketing. Know what is out there. Develop the one thing that cannot be duplicated: You.


Once you do this and as you build your downline and host of prospects to call, you will find your journey into MLM a lot less harsh, a lot less bitter, and a whole lot more fun and profitable.
